What is permitted development ?

Permitted development could be described as the planning departments worst nightmare, when implemented in October 1st 2008 the new planning legislation, allows the house owner certain rights and development benefits, without the need of any formal planning consent.  Known as Permitted Development.

This should therefore be a simple process of reading the clause's from the official GPDO legislation, and following the guidelines, not so the document can be interpreted in many ways, not making a simple clean cut way to successful development.

However, inhus are experts on permitted development and have proven inhus installs with enforced cases, by planning enforcement, where permitted development has been successfully achieved for living accommodation.  Now opening up the possibilities for inhus annex living accommodation developments all over the UK,  but you follow the exact requirements as set out within the Permitted development regulations and have proven case documents to back up your own development.

inhus annex accommodationThis inhus development meet permitted development easily and we could have added two / three extra rooms if the garden we installed was a little larger.  All inhus annex accommodation suites must comply with building regulations, for instance, with this inhus annex we had to pour 16 tonne of concrete into 4 rafts to meet building regulations and install a separate sewage pumping station, which when the tank meet a certain level of sewage it pumped the sewage back up to the main sewage drain network on the customers driveway.  This was because the garden level was lower then the main drain.  We also installed 1m x 1m cubed soak away pods for rain water, 1 heavy duty armour cable electric supply and telephone, network and  TV cables.
